80064’s restoration is paid for by people who want to see her back in steam. Here is how you can help, whatever you are able to give.
Give online
The quickest way to give, by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. Every gift made here goes straight to 80064’s restoration fund.
Add Gift Aid
If you pay UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax, Gift Aid lets us claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 you give, at no cost to you. Just tick the Gift Aid box when you donate. You need to have paid at least as much tax in the year as all the charities you support will reclaim.
Give every month
A regular gift, however small, lets us plan the work with confidence. £10 a month adds up to £120 a year, or £150 with Gift Aid.
Give by cheque or bank transfer
Add the payee name, postal address, bank details and the reference donors should use (for example ‘80064’).
Sponsor part of the engine
Some supporters like to pay for something specific, from a boiler tube to a set of brake blocks. Contact us to find out what needs funding now.
Decide whether to offer part sponsorship. If so, list the parts and amounts here; if not, delete this section.
Leave a gift in your will
A gift in your will can make a lasting difference to the restoration. Gifts to charities in a will are normally free of Inheritance Tax. Speak to your solicitor, and contact us for the charity details you will need.
Give your time
Not everyone can give money, and that is fine. Sharing our updates with friends, or offering your skills, helps just as much. Get in touch.
Questions about giving
Will my donation go to 80064?
Yes. Gifts made through this website go into the WSRA’s restricted fund for 80064. Should more be raised than is needed, the surplus will support the WSRA’s other locomotives.
Is the WSRA a registered charity?
Yes. The West Somerset Railway Association is registered charity number 1041901. You can look it up on the Charity Commission register.
Is it safe to donate online?
Yes. Donations are taken through the WSRA’s secure online donation form. Your card details go directly to the payment provider; we never see or store them.
How will I know how the money is spent?
We post progress reports on the news page and the restoration page, so you can see the work your gift supports.
Can I visit 80064?
Not at present. The engine is under restoration and is not on public display. We will announce any opportunity to see her on the news page.
